'46 N.Carolina: SEC Champ Vols defeat Choo Choo Justice and the 'Heels on Walter Slater's fake out of Choo Choo on punt return, 20-14.

'56 Ga. Tech: Bobby Dodd vs Bowden Wyatt, two Neyland disciples go head to head in Atlanta. This game is still regarded as one the all time greatest in UT history. The Vols won it 6-0.

'57 Gator Bowl vs Texas A&M: The Vols beat Bear Bryant in his final game at A&M, 3-0 and put the clamps on Heisman Trophy winner John David Crowe.

1959 Auburn: The Vols end the nation's longest winning streak at 24 and beat Auburn 3-0.

1959 LSU: The Vols beat LSU and Billy Cannon 14-13 for the 2nd upset of the season.

1960 Alabama: UT defeats Alabama, the only loss of the year for Alabama and UT's Bowden Wyatt's last big win

1962: General Neyland passes away at age 70

1964 LSU and GaTech: New Head Coach Doug Dickey's first signs of bringing the Vol program back to the top. Back to back weekends, the Vols tie #7 LSU in Baton Rouge on a dramatic goal line stand and then defeat Bobby Dodd and #7 GaTech in Atlanta 22-14

1965 Alabama: A dramatic 7-7 tie with the defending National Champions in Birmingham. The following Monday tragedy struck as 3 Vol coaches were killed in a car-train wreck.

1965 UCLA: The 1st of many classic battles between the Bruins and Vols. Tabbed the "Rose-Bonnet" Bowl, the two met in Memphis and the Vols won a thriller 37-34.

1965 Bluebonnet Bowl vs Tulsa: Vols dominate Tulsa to win first bowl game since 1957

1966 Gator Bowl vs Syracuse: The Vols beat Little and Csonka 18-12.

1967 Alabama: The Vols end Alabama's 25 game winning streak, 24-13 in Birmingham and go on to win it's first SEC title since '56.

1968 Georgia: The 1st collegiate game played on Tartan Turf. UT scores a 2-point conversion with no time left on the clock for the 17-17 tie.

1968 Alabama: The Vols hold off Alabama for the 10-9 win in Knoxville.

1969 Alabama: UT beats Alabama in Birmingham en route to the SEC title in '69, 41-14.

1969 Georgia: UT defeats Georgia in Athens, the Bulldogs first loss at home since 1965

1970 Florida: Former UT coach Doug Dickey gets a rude welcoming by the Vols, 38-7.

1970 Alabama: The Vols take Bama for the 4th consecutive year via 8 interceptions.

1971 Penn State: The1st meeting between the two schools in Knoxville. UT would win it 31-11 on "Majors Day", a halftime tribute to the contributions of the Majors' family.

1972 Penn St.: A rematch in Knoxville, the 1st night game in Neyland Stadium, and the Vols hold on 28-21.

1980 Auburn: The worst beating Auburn has ever had in Jordan-Hare Stadium, 42-0.

1982 Alabama: The end of the 11 year streak and Bear Bryant's last game vs the Vols.

1983 Alabama: The Vols win in the state of Alabama for the 1st time since '69, 41-34.

1984 Alabama: UT scores 15 points in under 6 minutes to win 28-27.

1985 Auburn: Bo Jackson and #1 Auburn fall in Knoxville 38-20.

1985 Alabama: The 4th consecutive win over the Tide in Birmham on the way to the SEC title, 16-14.

1986 Sugar Bowl vs Miami: The Hurricanes get blitzed 35-7 in the Superdome.

1989 UCLA: UT wins it's first game ever on California soil over #6 UCLA and go on to win the SEC title.

1989 Auburn: Two weeks later, #4 Auburn goes down 21-14 in a quagmire.

1990 Cotton Bowl vs Arkansas: UT hangs on to beat the Hogs 31-27 in Dallas.

1990 Florida: #4 UT beats #7 Florida for Homecoming, 45-3.

1990 Ole Miss: The winner of this Memphis battle would go to New Orleans. This was probably the most meaningful UT-Ole Miss game ever, and the Vols won it 22-13.

1991 Sugar Bowl vs Virginia: UT trailed until :23 left when Tony Thompson scored the winning TD, 23-22.

1991 Notre Dame: The biggest come-from-behind victory by a visiting team in South Bend. UT trailed 31-7 at one point, but stage a furious comeback and win it 35-34.

1992 Georgia: UT goes 70 yards in under 2 minutes to win 34-31 in Athens.

1992 Florida: UT wins in a downpour over the #4 Gators, 31-14.

1995 Alabama: Manning hits Kent for an 80 td on the 1st play of the game and UT never looks back, 41-14.

1996 Citrus Bowl vs Ohio State: The Vols take down Ohio State and Heisman winner Eddie George in the rain, 20-14.

1996 Alabama: Jay Graham races 76 yards with 2 minutes left for the 20-13 win over #6 Alabama.

1997 Auburn: UT's 1st trip to the SEC Championship Game. The Vols win a thriller, 30-29.

1998 Florida: The Vols' 1st overtime game comes in no bigger contest, 20-17. UT uses this game as the springboard to the '98 National Title.

1998 Arkansas: The latest in the season that two unbeaten, untied teams would face one another in the SEC since 1971 and the Vols steal the game late, 28-24.

1999 Fiesta Bowl vs FSU: UT caps the magical '99 season in the desert, 23-16.

1999 Alabama: The Vols win the 5th consecutive game over the Tide in Tuscaloosa.

2000 Alabama: Vols take 6th consecutive win over Alabama

2001 Alabama: UT wins it's 7th in a row over Alabama, the longest win streak ever put together vs the Tide in the history of Alabama football. 35-24 final

2001 Florida: In a winner take all game, UT defeats #2 Florida in the Swamp, the last home game for Steve Spurrer at Florida 34-32

2001 Michigan: Vols blow out Michigan in the only meeting to date between the two history rich schools, 45-17, and UT becomes the only team in college history to defeat Michigan, Alabama and Notre Dame all in the same season on the road

2003 Florida: Vols take 2nd consecutive win over the Gators in the Swamp, 24-10

2003 Alabama: The Vols win the 5 OT marathon thriller 51-43 in Tuscaloosa. UT's 8th win in the last 10 meetings and the 6th consecutive win vs Bama on the road.

2003 Miami: UT's defense dominates the 'Canes in the Orange Bowl and win 10-6. The first home loss for Miami in 26 games

2004 Florida: UT wins 2nd in a row and 3rd of the last 4 meetings vs the Gators on 50 yard Field Goal, 30-28

2004 Georgia: Vols knock off Georgia in Athens 19-14, ending the Dawg's 17 game home win streak

2005 Cotton Bowl vs Texas A&M: UT thrashes A&M 38-7
