Doug Dickey

1964-1969

Overall record at UT: 46-15-4

2 SEC Championships

Doug Dickey was hired off the Arkansas Staff in 1964. He was hired by Bob Woodruff, who was the UT AD from '63-'85, and also was Dickey's head coach at Florida from '51-'53. As irony would have it, Dickey replaced Woodruff as UT AD in '86, after coaching the Gators from '70-'79. Dickey retired from his AD post after the 2002 season.

He was responsible for putting the "T" on the side of the helmet as well as orchestrating the team running through the "T", formed by "The Pride of the Southland" band.
