Tennessee 38 - Auburn 20

September 28, 1985

A nationally-televised ambush of the nation's #1 ranked team. The Vols passed the Tigers dizzy as Tony Robinson threw four TD passes and accounted for 259 yards in the air.

Robinson's running led the way to the first score by Charles Wilson, but Robinson opened up the aerial game, hitting Tim McGee, Joey Clinkscales, Eric Swanson and Vince Carter for scores. The Vols led 24-0 at the half and 38-12 in the 4th before allowing a late Auburn score. The defense held Bo Jackson to 80 yards before he removed himself from the game. Tennessee caused 3 turnovers for the game.

The Vols' effort earned them a spot on the cover of Sports Illustrated the next week.
