Tennessee 42 - Auburn 0

September 27, 1980 at Auburn

Tennessee was pelted with oranges as they ran onto the field at newly expanded Jordan-Hare. The Vols saw red and handed Auburn its worse home loss in its history 42-0 in front of the largest crowd ever to see a game at Auburn, 75,942.

Jeff Olsewski directed the Vol attack flawlessly and Terry Daniels gained 125 yards rushing.

This win marked the first win on Alabama soil since the '69 win at Alabama. A 21 point second quarter put the game out of reach, as the Vols used the running of Damiels and James Berry and the receiving of Reggie Harper to put the Tigers away. Berry scored twice and Harper once. The Vols racked up 412 yards total offense and held the Tigers to 228. Tennessee intercepted three passes and recovered three fumbles in an impressive defensive effort.

Mike "Go" Cofer caught this TD pass, while Mike "Stop" Cofer was making life miserable for the Auburn offense.

Willie Gault and Bill Bates were in on the action as well.
